Even as a child, Carolyn Crump longed to, as she says, “create something beautiful and strong.” Today she is an award winning multimedia artist, renowned for her 3-D quilts. She uses them as storytellers and chroniclers of African-American culture. Crump is a member of the Women of Color Quilters Network. Her work has been featured in shows throughout North America and in Europe. She lives in Houston.
